Bit of a Giveaway

Thank you so much for all the comments. They all made me smile and also realise how many of us are catophiles. Apologies to the catophobes.

Jordi says 'now you are in for it' - how right you are!

Trouble is a great name for a cat, projectneo. Think I might rename Smudge. He is settling in well but is very noisy - I think there must be a bit of Siamese in there somewhere as he is very vocal. He has been asleep for most of the day as he stole Stevens large breakfast and ate the lot.

Be great to see you at Textiles 21 Anna - I'm going in October, too.

Doreen - how could you fall asleep at the sewing machine? That takes a very particular talent.

Stevens thanks all her readers but is still sulking. Her body language says it all.

Arlee - I haven't tried cat's fur on the embellisher but on one of my courses a lady brought in her apricot poodle clippings and some brave souls tried it. Quite nice with a bluey grey silk.

Tum much better, thanks Diana.

Chrissy - don't have any more. I'm finding one and a half is too many.

I'm loving your cyber fyber inclusions. Very thought provoking. Haven't worked out what mine will be yet but I do think that the arty-stitchy stuff can sometimes be very isolating and I love the cameraderie and encouragement, plus all the giggles, too.

I have some hardware giveaways plus a small piece of work to celebrate both my year of blogging (I missed the actual day last month) and the fact that I have started clearing the cupboards.

I have two flower stitch feet, which look like this.

They fit most low shank machines, or those which take extensions. The Pfaffs are sometimes a bit iffy, although my 7570 is OK. Here is a belt of Val's, made with them.

I also have three Gizmo makers which look like this.

And make things like this.

That you can extend to this.

Or, with wrapped pipe-cleaners, this.

There is also a small piece of machine embroidery looking for a home. It is an abstract interpretation of a Canadian Tulip Festival that we went to with our friends Bonnie and Ron. It is fixed to a piece of mount board for ease of sending and can easily be framed. Lousy pic - sorry.

Leave a comment to go in the hat and say which item you would like - you can put in for all three if you like. Unlike Linda,I haven't got access to a young hunk but will ask Fiona to do the draw next week sometime.

Maggie - are you joining textile 21 for the full three days? - I can only attend one day. So hope to see you there. I would love to be in the draw for you art work (I've always loved the work you do) and I already have both the flower stitcher and the gizmo (gizmo was recommended by you ages ago and is great fun to use). Hi Maggie, have just got your new book. great work as usual, I would be pleased to win anyone of your giveaways, Hope the cat enjoyed Steven's breakfast?

Ooh any of the goodies would be fab. I've been lurking for a while but haven't dared to comment. (I'm not worthy -it's THE Maggie Grey's blog - teehee). Only a giveaway has tipped me over the edge and committed to type. Thanks for a great blog. :o)

Please can I be greedy and enter for all three, too?

How's the grand clearance going?

Still haven't found my voice but now I'm waiting for speech therapy - which might mean considerable patience! Getting fed up with this...

Poor Stevens - but Smudge is extremely cute.

maybird said...

Glad Smudge is settling in, feel a bit sorry for poor Stephens though, had a similar situation a few years ago, they got on in the end. Would love your artwork as I have been a fan for many a year, but any would be lovely. Have had to hang up my stitching hat for a while as I had a fall which resulted in a broken wrist, torn ligaments and bruised hip, like to make a good job of things!Hoping to soon try out my new embellisher, if the wrist will let me.

If those of us over the pond are eligible, I'd love to be entered for any one of them! I'm having so much fun with the new book I just can't stand myself - and although I'm deathly allergic to cats, I do wish I could just pet Smudge and console Stevens for a whole 5 minutes!

What a wonderful giveaway event Maggie. I have enjoyed the adventures of Smudge... and yes looking at the photos I thought siamese in there, so you will have your hands full! Am I allowed to take part in your generous offer too? For the gizmo.. never did get round to buying one. Here's to another year of blogging fun.

Oh, what a nice little fellow you've got. He is so cute when he is asleep. My Choupette is very vocal (not always polite by the way, I've no problem understanding the bad words) and she loves attacking the other cats. Just for the fun. I too think she has siames blood, just for the same reason as you :-)
Maybe I'm a fool, I promise my neighbor I'll catsit for the weekend, and take their little kitten in my house, so that it won't be lonely. Might not have been my best idea of the week :-) (I have three cats and lots of birds... among other things).

It was lovely to finally meet you at the Lutterworth Guild. And what a splendid talk you gave, we all absolutely loved it. I have so much enjoyed reading your blog and following all your kitty exploits - Smudge is adorable and the fact that he likes being cuddled, I'm quite envious. Our two kittens (almost 1yr old) don't really like being picked up, but they are gradually improving, so there's hope yet.
Thank you for putting your goodies up for a draw. I should be happy with any of them, so I'd love to be included.
Best wishes, Kate J

I've beem too busy to check my blogs in the last couple of weeks and nearly missed this!
I would love to be entered Maggie, but what I would love to have is that small piece of work you are giving away.
I shall be crossing my fingers that my name jumps out of that hat.

I'd love any of these items Maggie in the hope that some of your inspiration might rub off onto me!

I have a pfaff and have never been able to get the flower stitcher to work, the presser foot tension seems too loose. But I NEED a piece of your work so please put me into the draw for that. TIA

I love your work and your blog. Such beautiful eye candy. And nice to know you're a cat lover too, as I am. My kitty's name is Oliver. He's very, very cool, and has a great personality. Although he can get feisty at times, and has scratched me more times than I can mention.

I'd love the coiling gizmo and the machine embellished piece. Thanks so much for having the giveaway.

Hi Maggie,

I'd love a chance to own the piece of machine embroidery because I was in your class in Vancouver during that trip to Canada.

Hi Maggie, having had an elderly cat (15) who has spent a lot of the past few years being sick, I read with interest your blogging about dried food being implicated in cats vomiting so often. I cut the dried food out of Misty's diet and in 5 weeks or so she has only been sick twice and has got her appetite back......... with a vengence. Thank you so much for posting such valuable information.
ps. I'd love the Flower foot. Oz Sue.

Hi Maggie,
